IRS announces tax relief for Yakama Nation wildfire victims

WHITE SWAN, Wash. – The Internal Revenue Service announced on Thursday that members and businesses in the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation will get tax relief following wildfire season.

As an area designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Yakama Nation is able to get relief.

Those who had been affected by wildfires that began on June 22 have until Feb. 3, 2025 to file federal individual and business tax returns and make payments.

This deadline applies to:

Individuals that had a valid extension to file their 2023 return due to run out on Oct. 15Businesses with an original or extended due date including, among others, calendar-year partnerships and S corporations whose 2023 extensions run out on Oct. 15Calendar-year corporations whose 2023 extensions run out on Oct. 15, 2024
