YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place at the intersection of East Nob Hill Boulevard and South 1st Street on Monday.
Yvette Inzunza with YPD says officers were sent to the intersection with reports of an active shooting. Officers arrived to find a car crash and several spend handgun casings.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the two cars were in a dispute that led to one following the other on Nob Hill Boulevard.
The lead car hit a curb and became disabled in the middle of the road. That car’s driver then allegedly got out and shot at the following car which drove off and was not found.
The alleged shooter escaped over a brick wall and was not found. Inzunza says there were no reported injures and that the investigation is ongoing.
