WAPATO, Wash. – A driver under the influence crashed into a building Monday afternoon, according to the Wapato Police Department on Facebook.
WPD officers were called to the 300 block of South Wapato Avenue at 12:20 p.m. where they found a large SUV that crashed into a building.
The driver of the SUV was identified and taken into custody following an investigation. The man was booked into the Yakima County Jail for driving under the influence.
WPD says Wapato Public Works has taped off the impact area for concerns of building integrity.
WPD also asks the public to avoid the taped off area to stay safe.
