MISSION, Ore.-The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Gaming Commission will host a training on human trafficking prevention March. 20-21 at Wildhorse Resort and Casino.
According to the CTUIR, the training is free and open to anyone who may benefit from it, however, it will be geared toward law enforcement, first responders, transportation providers, public assistance providers, health care providers and educators.
The training will be focused on human trafficking general awareness, detection and prevention, according to a CTUIR press release, and will include sessions on working collectively with partner agencies to address trafficking.
The CTUIR is collaborating with the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Department of Justice and the Oregon State Police Tribal Gaming Section for the training.
Amanda Swanson, a Human Trafficking Intervention Coordinator with ODOT will deliver the keynote address and representatives from the FBI, ODOT and CTUIR will lead panel discussions.
