WALLA WALLA, Wash. – According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, three vehicles were involved in a crash on SR 12 Saturday morning west of Walla Walla, injuring five with one being arrested for causing the crash and fleeing.
The crash happened around 7:31 a.m. heading eastbound where one car tried passing two cars at a high speed at around milepost 326. The car rear-ended another car, which then hit a third car.
The driver of the first car reportedly ran away on foot from the crash and was later arrested by Walla Walla County sheriffs.
WSP says five people were injured in the crash and transported to hospitals, including the driver who caused the crash.
WSP also says that drugs or alcohol were involved. The official cause is under investigation.
According to the WSDOT’s Travel Center Map, traffic is currently running smoothly along SR 12.
