Heading to the Pasco Cinco de Mayo Festival? Here’s what you need to know

PASCO, Wash. – The Pasco Cinco de Mayo festival kicks off on Sat., May 4 and will go through Sun., May 5.

Several road closures are scheduled throughout the weekend, however parking changes in downtown Pasco will come into effect a day earlier.

On Fri., May 3, Nixon Street will be marked for parade staging and parking will not be allowed between Second Avenue and Third Avenue or in the gravel parking lot near City Hall.

Street closures start on Saturday, with the staging area and parade route closing for traffic from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Specifically closures include Lewis Street from Third Avenue to Fifth Avenue and Fourth Avenue from Clark Street to Columbia Street.

Road closures will expand on Cinco de Mayo for the Car Show. Closures will include Lewis Street from Second Avenue to Fifth Avenue, Fourth Avenue from Clark Street to Columbia Street and Second Avenue from Clark Street to Columbia Street.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday and is followed by a charro, or horse dancing, show at Volunteer Park with boxing exhibitions downtown. The ‘Tons of Trucks’ event will also be held downtown. The day will end with a street dance for guests over 21 downtown.

On Sunday, there will be a Car Show hosted by New Generations Car Club and a breakdancing competition. Throughout the weekend, attendees will be able to listen to local music, eat from various food vendors, attend a Beer Garden and visit the family-friendly Kids’ Zone.
