YAKIMA, Wash. – The MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital accepted a $40,000 check from HAPO Community Credit Union on Tuesday supporting healthcare programs and services for children, along with a toy electric car for a Children’s Village patient.

A press release from MultiCare says the funds were raised in 2023 through HAPO’s Credit Unions for Kids program that supports Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals.

“We are grateful for the continued support from HAPO Community Credit Union and their members,” said Memorial Foundation CEO Erin Black, who accepted the ceremonial check. “This donation will make a direct impact on thousands of kids across Central Washington who will receive care locally through MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital and Children’s Village this year.”

The toy Jeep Wrangler that was given to a patient was claimed through an auction hosted by the GoWest Credit Union Association in which 11 CMN Hospitals put bids on electric cars.

The donation supports specialized pediatric programs, services and equipment at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital’s Children’s Village, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Unit and Family Birth Center.
