Haley Joel Osment might have found his new calling as a celebrity impersonator if his impression of Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance is anything to go by.
The Sixth Sense actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, October 1, in a parody political ad spoofing Vance’s cringe-inducing visit to a donut shop back in August.
Adorned in a suit, beard, and eyeliner, Osment’s Vance fired back at those who called him “weird,” “creepy,” and “awkward” by showing he could have a normal interaction with everyday folk.
“They want you to think that I can’t order a simple door nut — donut. S***,” Osment said at the start of the segment. He then strode into the donut shop, cut in front of an elderly woman, and made awkward small talk with the employee behind the counter.
“Donut,” he said, to which the employee replied, “Which one?”
“Whatever makes sense,” Osment responded, using Vance’s go-to line.

He then punched open a glass display cabinet and grabbed a donut before sitting next to a construction worker and dunking the donut deep into a cup of coffee.
“So, how long you been Black?” Osment’s Vance asked the worker before jumping up because he “smelled” a pregnant woman.
Fans took to social media to praise Osment’s performance, including screenwriter Jace Serrano, who said The Kominsky Method alum deserves an Emmy award.
“Haley Joel Osment should win an Emmy for his portrayal of JD Vance trying to buy a donut,” Serrano wrote on X.
“Can @HaleyJoelOsment please do one of these every day? Because this outstanding trolling of #Shillbilly Vance,” said another.
Another added, “I believe haley joel osment is one of the best comedic actors we’ve had going for a while. underutilised but when he gets his chance, he knocks it outta the park every time.”
“Hang this in the Louvre! You’re amazing, @HaleyJoelOsment!” another wrote.

“The most exciting thing about Haley Joel Osment becoming a bigger presence in mainstream comedy is that he’s still a f****** phenomenal actor,” one commenter said.
Others want to see Osment reprise his role as Vance on Saturday Night Live, with one fan writing, “I said @nbcsnl should hire @HaleyJoelOsment to play #JDVance weeks ago, and here is definitive proof he’s the man for the job.”
Another wrote, “I love Haley Joel osment getting work he is woefully underutilized.”
