RICHLAND, Wash. – The Hains Levee Trail that runs along Hains Street and the Columbia River reopened on Monday following root removal, repair and repaving work, according to the City of Richland.
The portion of trail that ran from Porter’s Real Barbecue to River Road initially closed on May 13. A contractor removed vegetation and debris, removed trees and roots, repaired the trail, removed asphalt and repaved the path.
The City notes that bicyclists should limit speeds to 5 mph when riding near others, when in congested areas and when riding where sight lines keep them from seeing others.
