Great Falls community gathers for Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Communities across the United States are celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and in Great Falls, the festivities are in full swing today.

The day acknowledges the contributions of Indigenous communities who lived in the Americas long before Columbus’s arrival.

In Great Falls, the Indigenous Peoples’ Day Coalition is hosting a special event at the Heritage Hall at Great Falls College. The celebration features festive food, a fry bread contest, a rock-in-fist tournament, and speeches from a variety of speakers.

Residents and visitors have a chance to connect with the local culture while participating in various activities. The event will continue until 7:00 p.m., offering ample time for everyone to join in the celebrations.
