GRANDVIEW, Wash.-Grandview Police are warning residents of a phone scam targeting the community.
According to Grandview PD, the scam call starts with what sounds like a woman crying before another person gets on the phone and says the crying person was involved in an accident.
Victims of the scam are then asked to start driving and they will be given directions of where to meet the scam caller. Once the victim is driving they are ultimately asked to buy gift cards.
Anyone who receives the scam call should not agree to buy gift cards or meet with anyone and should contact Grandview PD at 882-2000.
