OLYMPIA, Wash.-Governor Jay Inslee has proclaimed Nov. 23 as Adoption Day in Washington.

Adoption Day is celebrated nationally every year and the Department of Children, Youth, and Families and the Administrative Office of the Courts hold adoption events around the country.

“We are so grateful for the families who are willing to open their hearts and homes for the children and youth in our care — when that placement becomes permanent, it’s really special,” said Ross Hunter, Secretary for DCYF.

Adoption Day ceremonies are planned across Washington Nov. 21-23, including in Benton and Franklin Counties on Nov. 22.

More information on the adoption process in Washington and resources for adoptive families is available online through DCYF.
