KENNEWICK, Wash.-Goodwill Industries of the Columbia recently opened a new donation center in the Southridge area of Kennewick.
“This location helps us broaden our reach,” said Marcy Wasney with Goodwill. “This is an area that we really wanted to target.”
Goodwill Industries of the Columbia operates in 13 counties and the new donation center at 3813 Plaza Way, across from Trios Hospital, will allow the organization to broaden its range of services.
Donations collected at the new center will be transported to local Goodwill stores around the region, including in the Tri-Cities, College Place and Hermiston.
Goodwill’s new donation center at Southridge is attended, which means someone will be there to receive donations during business hours, however, there are some items the organization is unable to accept.
What can’t be donated to Goodwill:
Mattresses or box springsStained, broken or torn furnitureLarge appliances, such as washers or dryersTires
“We’re really happy to be welcomed into the community here at Southridge,” Wasney said.
