Get ready to fall back, check smoke alarms

TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Daylight saving time ends on Nov. 3 and turning your clocks back also serves as a good reminder to check your smoke alarms.

Setting clocks back an hour is also a good time to test smoke alarms and make sure they are working and replace the batteries if necessary.

According to the Benton Franklin Health District, in addition to changing any dead batteries, smoke alarms that are over 10 years old should also be replaced.
