WALLA WALLA, Wash.- Parents, teachers, school staff and the community is invited to a free Spanish Youth Mental Health First Aid Training hosted by the Walla Walla Center for Children and Families.
Training will focus on helping people 12-18 years old who are experiencing mental health or addiction challenges and in crisis situations. It will be aimed to teach adults who regularly see young people.
Leaders will teach about mental health challenges as well as a 5-step plan to help in crisis and non-crisis situations. Anxiety, depression, substance use disorders will be discussed.
The event takes place on February 24 at the Walla Walla Center for Children and Families. Registration is free and food and childcare will be provided.
