YAKIMA, Wash. – The City of Yakima announced on Friday the discontinuation of Yakima Transit’s free shuttle service to the State Fair Park for the park’s Fourth of July celebration.
Yakima Transit Manager Alvie Maxey says low participation and a cost increase for transit operations led to the decision.
“While we have appreciated the opportunity to provide free July 4th shuttles in the past, this shuttle is discontinued until further notice,” said Maxey.
The State Fair Park Fourth of July Celebration is scheduled for noon to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
