YAKIMA, Wash.-With the first winter storm of the season hitting the region today, it’s beginning to look and feel like the holidays and Yakima will host its fourth annual drive-through letters to Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 9. from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event at the City’s Public Works Facility at 2301 Fruitvale Blvd will feature music, Yakima Christmas Trucks, lighted displays and children will have the opportunity to drop off letters for Santa in a special mailbox.
Mrs. Claus will greet visitors as they arrive and there will be treats available for children, while supplies last, according to the City of Yakima.
Signs directing traffic will be posted and YPD Officers will be present to direct traffic. Yakima Parks and Recreation is reminding attendees that the event is a drive through and they must stay in their cars.
The City of Yakima is asking drivers to follow the route below for the event:
Approach the Public Works facility off of 16th Avenue on to J Street heading west.Turn left on 21st Ave.Turn right on Fruitvale Blvd.Turn right into the Public Works parking lots.After driving through the event, exit and turn right on Fruitvale Blvd.
