OLYMPIA, Wash.-The Washington State Supreme Court has barred former judge Sam Swanberg from ever serving in a judicial position again.
The ban, posted by the court on Nov. 7 read in part, “Judge Samuel Perry Swanberg is removed from office and is disqualified from serving thereafter in any judicial capacity.”
Swanberg resigned in May after a disciplinary hearing by the Washington State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
In September the commission found that Swanberg violated the code of judicial conduct, censured him and recommended the Supreme Court disqualify him from judicial office.
The rulings stem from 2022 allegations of assault, stalking and harassment concerning his ex-wife, of which Swanberg was acquitted in Franklin County.
