Former Seattle Seahawk to speak at Black History Month events in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. – A number of organizations in Yakima are holding a month-long series of events for Black History Month.

On February 1, a presentation on Yakima’s diverse history and the contributions local Black pioneers and their families made to the Yakima Valley is planned for the Union Gap Library.

Former Seattle Seahawk, Shaquem Griffin will be the headline speaker for events on February 12 and 13 at the OIC Henry Beauchamp Community Center, OIC of Washington and the Yakima Rotary.

The first player with one hand to be drafted in the NFL plans to share his inspiring story.

On February 27, an event at Yakima Valley College closes out Black History Month. Diversity Series and Robert Trimble Consulting will be hosting the Black History Luncheon with Genius Potential doing Epic Rap Battles
