YAKIMA, Wash. – Former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse is selected as the keynote speaker for YWCA Yakima’s 30th Annual Leadership Luncheon, according to a press release.
The annual fundraiser brings together local businesses, community leaders and government representatives to support women suffering from domestic violence.
The luncheon provides support for domestic violence programs in the community, expanding support for women, children and families.
“YWCA Yakima serves over 14,000 people throughout Yakima County each year,” said YWCA Yakima CEO Cheri Kilty. “Domestic violence is a crisis in our community. Coming together to ensure there are programs and safe places for people to go in an emergency is vitally important.”
Kearse spent eight years in the NFL and played in two Super Bowls, including winning one with Seattle. Since his 2020 retirement, Kearse co-founded the Evergreen Golf Club and Future Fairways Foundation to create inclusivity and break barriers for junior golfers.
The luncheon takes place on Tuesday, May 14 at the Yakima Convention Center at noon.
Ticket purchasing and more information can be found on the YWCA Yakima website.
