SPOKANE, Wash.-The former Pasco Police Officer accused of strangling a woman to death in 1986 will be retried without a grand jury.
Richard Aguirre waived his right to a jury trial last month, according to the Spokesman Review and a Spokane County Superior Court Judge will now rule on the case.
DNA evidence linked Aguirre to the death of Ruby Doss in 2015 and he has been tried multiple times, however, the charges were ultimately dropped each time.
Pre-trial motions are set to begin in Aguirre’s case on Nov. 27 and the trial is expected to last about three weeks before the Judge makes their decision.
