OLYMPIA, Wash.-Campfires, target shooting and other activities that could cause fires are now restricted on Department of Fish and Wildlife managed lands in Eastern Washington.
The restrictions are meant to reduce the risk of wildfires and increase public safety and will remain in effect until further notice, according to the WDFW. Changes or updates to regulations will be posted online.
“We all have a part to play in preventing wildfires, and we’re urging visitors enjoying Washington’s great outdoors this summer to be a part of the solution,” said Cynthia Wilkerson, WDFW’s Lands Division Manager.
Restricted activities as of July 1 on WDFW lands in Eastern Washington:
Fires and campfires, including those in fire rings: Stoves and lanterns fueled by propane or liquid petroleum are allowed.Target shooting: Shooting permitted daily from sunrise until 10 a.m. through Aug. 15 at the Methow Shooting Range and the Asotin Shooting Range.
