BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – Fire crews are currently responding to a fire on I-82 near the Badger Road exit at milepost 109.
Benton County Fire District 1 firefighters are on scene of the fire that reportedly jumped the road and may be threatening a nearby apartment complex.
Ridgeline Drive has been closed between the roundabout on West Clearwater Avenue and South Clodfelter Road, according to BCFD1.
Benton County Fire District 4 Chief Paul Carlyle says the fire started in the median of I-82 at around 1:45 p.m.
Carlyle says no injuries have been reported. The cause and size of the fire is unknown.
People are being advised to avoid I-82 between Dallas Road and Highway 395 at this time. Drivers are being diverted through Bob Olson Parkway.
