BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-The fire danger in Benton County is now Very High.
Due to the extended excessive heat and continued dry conditions, the fire danger level will remain very high until further notice, according to Benton County Fire District #1.
Public outdoor burning is not permitted under very high fire danger levels and legal recreational fires are only allowed within metal fire rings.
Under very high fire conditions fires can start easily from all causes and could spread fast and flames should be long and intense making control and mop-up difficult.
For the latest on burning bans and conditions, Benton County residents should contact the Benton Clean Air Agency at 509-783-1304.
