BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-Wildfire season is underway and with several fires throughout the region already, the fire danger forecast for Benton County is now moderate.
Fire danger falls into five classifications: low, moderate, high, very high and extreme.
According to a Benton County press release, the fire danger throughout the county will remain at moderate until further notice.
Under moderate fire danger some wildfires should be expected with moderate spread, however, depending on weather conditions control is usually not difficult.

Fire season is also now underway throughout the Yakima Valley.
The Selah Fire Department responded to multiple brush fires over the past week and is now reminding everyone to be cautious when burning or driving through brush.
