BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-The fire danger in Benton County is currently “Moderate.”
Due to the recent warm weather and continued dry conditions, the danger level was raised to “Moderate” on May 15, according to Benton County Fire District #1.
Under Moderate fire danger, wildfires may be expected, however, depending on the terrain that catches fire, control is usually not difficult, according to the National Fire Danger Rating System.
With continued warm temperatures expected for the region and wind in the forecast through the weekend, BCFD1 is encouraging everyone who will be working or playing outside to have a water source nearby and an escape route planned in case of a fire.
