RICHLAND, Wash – Firefighters put out an apartment fire in Richland this afternoon (January 8).
Crews responded to a call of fire and smoke at the Timbers Apartments in the 1900 block of Stevens Drive at around 3:30 p.m.
A NonStop Local photographer spoke with Richland Fire Chief Tom Huntington. He said crews had the fire extinguished within eight minutes of their arrival.
The fire was isolated to the living room of one apartment, but about a half dozen apartments were evacuated as a precaution, said Chief Huntington.
Crews remain on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
