YAKIMA, Wash. – Fire crews are fighting a wildfire at Harlan Landing north of Yakima, according to Selah Fire Chief Jim Lange.
Lange says the fire is estimated to be over 20 acres in size, however it is difficult for crews to access due to it being on a hillside. Air support was called to help control the fire.
As a result, over 6,000 Yakima and Selah residents are experiencing a power outage, according to Pacific Power.
A firefighter is being treated for heat-related injuries. No homes are being threatened and no evacuations are expected, according to Lange.
The cause is currently unknown.
