KENNEWICK, Wash. – An RV caught on fire on Thursday in Kennewick, according to the Kennewick Fire Department.

At around 6:59 p.m., crews were sent to the 100 block of South Washington Street for an RV on fire that was spreading to nearby large trees. Callers also reported that a dog might have been in the RV.

KFD and Benton County Fire District 1 responded, knocking down the flames and controlling the fire nine minutes following the first unit’s arrival. A search of the RV did not find a dog inside.

No one was injured in the fire and its cause is under investigation. Kennewick Police officers also blocked traffic in the area to prevent drivers from driving over fire hoses.

Later at 7:34 p.m. while firefighters were removing smoldering items from the RV, two crews were sent to a nearby dumpster on fire on North Auburn Street, which was extinguished quickly.
