KENNEWICK, Wash. – Fire crews responded to a small brush fire burning along train tracks behind Twin City Foods in the evening of Aug. 1.
According to Kennewick Fire Deputy Chief Michael Heffner, crews responded to a fire causing a large column of black smoke that started at around 6 p.m.
The fire grew to about a half an acre before being put under control about a half hour later. No one was injured and no structures were damaged, according to Heffner.
The cause is under investigation, though crews noticed signs of human activity in the area.
KFD and Benton County Fire District 1 worked to control the fire.
