FBI: No foul play suspected after bodies of two Yakama Nation members found in car near motel in Toppenish

TOPPENISH, Wash. -UPDATE: JUNE 24. The FBI confirmed that it did process the scene after bodies were found in a car at the El Corral Motel in Toppenish on June 21.

According to the FBI, there is no evidence of foul play, however, the official cause of death is pending an examination from the Coroner’s Office.

The bodies of two Yakama Nation members were found in a car in the parking lot of the El Corral Motel in Toppenish on Friday.

Toppenish Police Department Captain Jon Schwarder says a call came in just before 11 a.m. reporting the bodies.

After a short investigation, TPD determined that the bodies belonged to members of the Yakama Nation.

Schwarder says the causes of death are currently unknown. The investigation was turned over to Tribal police and the FBI.
