Fatal Pasco collision between vehicle and motorcycle remains under investigation

PASCO, Wash. – UPDATE FEB. 17

According to Sergeant Richard Leininger with the Pasco Police Department, the collision on West Lewis Street and 14th Avenue was between a single vehicle and a motorcycle.

According to Sgt. Leininger, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Lewis Street and the vehicle was traveling north on 14th Avenue.

The motorcycle hit the vehicle on the front driver side fender causing the airbags to deploy on impact.

The driver of the vehicle and juvenile passenger were uninjured.

When crews arrived on scene, they attempted to perform life saving measures on the motorcyclist.

According to Sgt. Leininger, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and will not be charged.

The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE FEB. 16, 9:57 p.m.

The Pasco Police Department say West Lewis Street has been reopened at 14th Avenue.

The Pasco Police Department has closed 14th Avenue and West Lewis for several hours as it investigates a deadly crash.

The road will be closed for several hours and drivers are asked to find alternate routes.
