BROADWATER COUNTY, Mont. – Montana Highway Patrol has released information about a fatal crash in Broadwater County that happened on August 31 around 1:53 p.m.
According to the crash report, an 87-year-old man was traveling east on US Highway 12 near mile marker 2.3 and was attempting to make a left turn and failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle, turned in front of them, and was hit.
The 87-year-old did not have his seatbelt on and was partially ejected. He was taken to Benefis Health System where he later died because of his injuries.
The second vehicle had a 32-year old man, 34-year-old woman, and two children ages 6 and 8. All four of them had their seatbelts on and received minor injuries.
