Fall means just a few more weeks of irrigation water

TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Fall is officially here, the leaves are falling, the pumpkin spice flavors are flowing, yard work season is winding down and irrigation districts around the region are getting ready to turn the water off in a few weeks.

Most residents will have water until about mid-October, here are the scheduled shut-off dates for local irrigation districts:

Franklin County Irrigation: shut-off is tentatively scheduled for October 23. Updates on water status will be posted online.Kennewick Irrigation District: according to KID, the exact shut-off date has yet to be voted on, however, irrigation water usually stops flowing in mid-October.Columbia Irrigation District: the end of the irrigation water season is set for October 13.Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District: SVID will begin shutting down the Sunnyside Canal on October 18 and will finish on October 20.Selah-Moxee Irrigation District: irrigation is scheduled to be shut-off on October 13.City of Yakima: irrigation is scheduled to be shut-off on October 15, however, since October 15 is a Sunday, the water may be shut off on Friday, October 13.
