KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Farmers Market closed on Thu., July 18 due to extreme heat.
The Market posted to Facebook saying that safety and comfort are their top priorities along with ensuring “everyone stays cool and healthy.”
An organizer with the Market says no one was injured or had a heat-related illness that prompted the cancellation, stating that it’s difficult for farmers to transport produce in extreme heat.
The Market is still planned to be open next Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
