YAKIMA – City and county leaders in Yakima will celebrate the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by holding a series of events this week and January 20.
The county is gearing up for its 40th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration with the theme “Don’t give up the dream. Keep hope alive!”, said a release.
Various activities are planned including an event that highlights the work of government agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, private businesses and community members to promote peace.
There will also be a Peace Walk and Celebration on January 20th in Yakima. The Peace Walk will start at 12:00 pm following a Celebration at the Yakima Convention Center, the release said.
