PASCO, Wash.-The Educational Service District 123 has expanded with an on-site audiology clinic at the main office at 3924 W. Court St. in Pasco.
The on-site clinic complements the ESD’s existing mobile audiology van, which started during the 2022-23 school year to provide services to school-age children through a partnership with the Washington Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth (CDHY).
“It is so wonderful to work for an organization like ESD 123 with the resources and collaboration to reduce barriers,” said Dr. Betsy Schluge, AuD CCC-A, Director of Audiological Services.
The new on-site clinic will provide an extra level of comfort and care when working with younger children ages 7 months to 5 years.
According to the ESD, the on-site audiology clinic has the extra space for a test assistant, increasing testing validity and reliability for younger children and reducing the need for follow-up testing.
The ESD 123’s Audiology Department has also increased its clinical days to two per week and added a Saturday clinic on select weekends.
For audiological services parents or caregivers can contact the ESD Audiology team or submit an inquiry via ESD 123’s website at www.esd123.org/services/special_services/audiology.
