Early morning shooting in Kennewick leaves one person injured, believed to be targeted attack

KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the early morning of July 13 and found an injured individual.

According to a KPD Facebook post, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of West 5th Ave. and South Rainer St. around 12:22 a.m.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a victim and multiple gun shell casings. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to KPD, there is no current threat to the public. The incident is believed to be a “targeted offense”.

No description or information about a suspect or suspects has been released.
