SELAH, Wash. – SR 821 was temporarily closed near the Sundown M Ranch due to a deadly crash involving a car and multiple motorcycles.

A press memo from the Washington State Patrol says the car was heading northbound at milepost 2 while three motorcycles were going southbound. The car’s driver reportedly turned left and hit all three motorcycles.

The crash killed 69-year-old Rodney Ahrens from Issaquah. Three other riders were injured and brought to nearby hospitals.

WSP says the car’s driver was uninjured and is pending charge. Drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

Both directions of SR 821 were closed from East Pomona Road (milepost 1) to Rosa Recreation Site (milepost 7) near Selah, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.
