PASCO, Wash. – The man charged with killing three people in a wrong-way DUI crash was arraigned in Franklin County Superior Court on Tuesday.
Zachary Schwartz, 38, is charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.
Court documents say Schwartz allegedly caused the crash when he drove the wrong way on I-182 on Dec. 27 with a blood alcohol content of 0.106.
Schwartz’s bond was initially set at $250,000, however Franklin County Judge Bronson Brown says the courts will sign a new condition of release form to increase his bond to $750,000.
If posted, he will get a SCRAM device installed, will not be allowed to drink alcohol or use non-prescription drugs and will be unable to leave Yakima, Benton and Franklin counties.
Schwartz’s pre-trial is set for Feb. 4 with the full trial scheduled for Feb. 19. He is reportedly still in custody at the Franklin County Corrections Center.
