Driver suspected in Memorial Day hit-and-run arrested in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash.-The suspect in an injury hit-and-run on Memorial Day was arrested on June 1.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Tyler Harris was stopped on suspicion of shoplifting at Macy’s in Kennewick around 5:50 p.m., then arrested by a WSP Trooper after being on the run for almost a week.

Harris is suspected of being behind the wheel of a car reported stolen out of Mattawa that crashed into a semi at the intersection of Clearwater and US 395 in Kennewick on Memorial Day.

Two passengers in the car were hospitalized after the crash, however, Harris ran from the scene before being caught six days later.

Harris was booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, according to the WSP.
