YAKIMA, Wash. – A speeding driver lost control of his vehicle Thursday afternoon on Summitview Avenue in Yakima and was arrested, according to Yakima Police Department PIO Yvette Inzunza.
Inzunza says a traffic officer tried to stop a car that was speeding on Summitview Avenue near North 28th Avenue at 2:35 p.m. He reportedly left the road as soon as the officer tried to stop him.
Speeding and road conditions were the reasons for the driver heading off the road. No other collisions were reported and no one was injured.
The driver was booked into jail according to Inzunza. NonStop Local is waiting for further comment from YPD on the situation.
