BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – A woman is facing a negligent driving charge for allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel and causing a crash that injured four people, including two children, on I-82 south of Kennewick on Tuesday.
A press release from the Washington State Patrol says at around 8:16 a.m., a car and a semi-truck were heading westbound on I-82 when the woman driving the car reportedly fell asleep and crashed into the semi-truck.
Four of the six people in the car were injured, which included two children and the driver herself. The truck driver was uninjured.
WSP determined the cause of the crash to be inattention. All involved vehicles were driven from the scene.
