Driver arrested in Richland after allegedly speeding from police, spike strips used

RICHLAND, Wash. – FCSO deputies, Richland PD, and Pasco PD worked together to arrest a driver who allegedly sped away from police on August 17.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies witnessed a white Charger speeding and cutting off multiple vehicles while traveling north on US 395.

The driver sped away as deputies tried to pull them over.

Spike strips were used successfully but the driver continued to drive away at speeds over 125 mph west on I-182. The chase was stopped after deputies lost sight of the car.

Richland PD and Pasco PD found the vehicle broken down in the Richland Winco parking lot later that night.

The driver was caught and booked on charges of attempting to elude, reckless driving, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, obstruction, and an ignition interlock violation.
