PROSSER, Wash.-Driscoll’s berry company announced it will be matching donations from the community to help build a new Boys and Girls Club in Prosser.

Until Sept. 30 Driscoll’s will match community donations, up to $100,000 to complete construction of a new Boys and Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties Prosser Clubhouse.

“We have been a proud supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Prosser for three years and in that time, we’ve seen how their facilities make a difference in youth development and education,” said Sambhav Sambhav, Pacific Northwest Regional Manager, Driscoll’s, Inc.

The Boys and Girls Club in Prosser currently operates out of two sites and has been operating with a waitlist for club members for over a decade, according to a press release on the effort to build a new clubhouse.

The new clubhouse is expected to open in 2025 at a cost of $6 million and is being funded by community donations.

According to the Boys and Girls Club, construction of the new 15,000 square foot clubhouse started in March and will allow the Club in Prosser to serve over 200 youth a day with program spaces for tech, art, and homework help; teen rooms for middle and high schoolers, as well as an outdoor recreation area.

Driscoll’s matching donation challenge hopes to encourage additional contributions from the Prosser community and make a significant push towards raising the remaining funds needed to finish the project.

“It’s our hope that the new facility spaces will allow the Club to broaden their services and their reach for those that need it most,” said Sambhav.
