Downed power line affects traffic lights in East Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick Police responded to a crash that downed a powerline in East Kennewick on Thursday.

The powerline in the area of Railroad Avenue and North Fruitland Street was hit by a slow-moving truck, according to the KPD, and has affected power in the area.

KPD Officer Peyton Hannah says the driver was not injured in the crash nor were they arrested. Officers have since cleared the area.

Benton PUD is aware of traffic signals not working in the area and utility crews are working to restore power to the 31 customers still without power. Power is estimated to be fully restored in 10 to 18 hours.
