Donald Trump likely to select Marco Rubio as Secretary of State

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering Florida Senator Marco Rubio for the role of Secretary of State, according to CNN.

As of Monday night, it was unclear if Trump had formally offered Rubio the position. Earlier on Monday, sources indicated that Trump was leaning towards Ric Grenell, who previously served as Trump’s ambassador to Germany and as acting director of national intelligence.

However, as the day progressed, Trump’s preference appeared to shift towards Rubio. Despite this, Trump could still change his mind.

Rubio brings significant foreign policy experience to the table. The three-term senator is currently a member of both the Senate Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committees.
