Domestic violence suspect found by drone, arrested by Richland PD

RICHLAND, Wash.-A man wanted on suspicion of a felony domestic violence charge was arrested without incident after a brief standoff in Richland on Oct. 3.

The Richland Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit located the suspect at a home on the 2100 block of Pullen Street around 1:50 p.m.

The suspect and homeowner were uncooperative, according to the RPD and uniformed officers responded to the scene to assist and surrounded the home.

RPD made announcements with a loudspeaker and used a drone to locate the suspect in the backyard of the home.

The suspect was eventually arrested without incident and booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of the previous domestic violence assault charge and assault in the second degree, according to an RPD social media post.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Anyone experiencing domestic violence should call 911 or contact Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Counties for assistance.
