WALLA WALLA, Wash. – According to a press release from the Walla Walla Police Department, a man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his father and barricading himself in his house on Thursday.
WWPD was reportedly called to a house on the 1300 block of Ruth Street for a domestic disturbance where officers found that a 45-year-old man had attacked his 77-year-old father.
The man was in the house and being called to come out by officers for over an hour and a half until officers finally went in and arrested the man without trouble after 6:30 p.m. after a search warrant was issued.
WWPD says the nearby Pioneer Middle School was notified of the situation however school had already been let out apart from a basketball practice. No students were allowed to walk home following the practice and parents were contacted to pick them up.
No injuries were reported by the WWPD. The man is being charged for domestic violence and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
