Dog dies in Pendleton house fire

PENDLETON, Wash.- A house fire in Pendleton results in death of one dog.

According to Fire Chief with Pendleton Fire and Ambulance, Jim Critchley Smoke was reportedly coming out of a house located at 220 South West Seventh Street in Pendleton.

According to Critchley, when Pendleton Fire Department arrived the house appeared to be filled with smoke.

When crews went inside the home it was found that only a dog was inside, no other pets or people.

Crews brought the dog outside and attempted to resuscitate however, the dog was already dead.

According to Critchley, the fire started in the kitchen and the cause is still unknown.

The road was briefly closed while crews put out the fire. The roadway is now fully open.
